BECOME A MEMBER

Thank you for your interest in Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Inc. Becoming a member of this prestigious organization can be a rewarding experience for you. As you consider membership in G Phi D, we ask that you pray about it. We are interested in men who understand our vision, mission, and values and are willing to uphold and support those principles.

Gamma Phi Delta offers three membership levels - Collegiate, Alumni and Honorary (requirements listed below). Orientation Fees for Collegiate and Alumni are as follows:

  • If you join through an active chapter - $625, which includes a $150 non-refundable processing fee
  • If you join through a colony (Starting a Chapter) or revitalizing chapter - $700, which includes a $150 non-refundable processing fee and $75 travel fee

Membership requirements to join as an Undergraduate or Graduate Student (Collegiate)

1. All candidates must be male (in accordance with title IX U.S. Education Act Amendment of 1972) and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (undergraduate candidates).

2. Candidates shall be required to fulfill a Membership Intake Process, which shall be for the purpose of establishing unity among the candidates and members, building and strengthening Christian characteristics, and developing a proper respect for Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Incorporated and the principles for which it stands.

3. A person seeking membership into any chapter of this Fraternity must comply with all rules and regulations set forth by the campus student activities board of the college or university in which the person is aspiring to gain membership into Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Inc.

4. All persons seeking membership as a graduate student must have graduated from an accredited 4-year college or university.

5. No member of any other college or intercollegiate fraternity may obtain membership from Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Incorporated at the undergraduate level. Membership shall only be granted to students who have previously joined another single sex organization provided they relinquish all rights to membership in their former organization(s). This does not include organizations that are honorary societies and/or career professional (i.e. National Association of Black Journalist, Beta Beta Beta, etc.). This section applies to all members who obtained membership into Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Incorporated after April 7, 2001.

6. No member of Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Incorporated shall obtain membership from any other college or intercollegiate social fraternity. This does not include organizations that are honorary and/or professional societies. This section applies to all members who gain membership into Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Incorporated after April 7, 2001. To do so is to relinquish all rights as a member of Gamma Phi Delta Christian Fraternity, Inc.

7. With any of the exceptions mentioned above, membership shall be open to any male working toward or having completed a bachelor degree from an accredited college/university regardless of race, national origin, creed, sexual orientation, political affiliation, religion, age, handicap, or veteran status.

Honorary Membership into the Fraternity

Honorary membership may be granted to those qualified applicants who have met the criteria set by the fraternity.
